Grishma

Grishma Rutu (April - June)

The pleasant atmosphere slowly starts getting more and more hot and dry, which means that the actual summer or Grishma Rutu has started.

In Grishma Rutu, glaring rays of the sun absorb the water from the rivers. Similar effect is seen in our bodies too; water level in our body starts reducing and the dryness starts increasing. Continuous sweating reduces the water content in our body, the agni or digestion power becomes weak and the outer heat reduces the energy.

The days seem to be the longest in this season, whereas the nights have the shortest duration. The water levels of rivers, lakes, and ponds go down due to the high temperature. All living creatures including birds, animals, and human beings become very uncomfortable and prefer to stay at home in a cool environment.

Each season has its importance and pattern. Mother Earth is blessed with watery and juicy fruits like watermelon, muskmelon, coconut water, juicy mangoes, etc.
